As we celebrate Women's History Month this March, DreamWrights Youth and Family Theatre is preparing to bring the historic struggle of women's rights and equal pay to the community theatre stage. Homeschoolers from York County and beyond have partnered with DreamWrights for the production of To See The Stars for five performances from today, April 3-5.

To See The Stars Show Dates and Times:

· April 3: 10:00 a.m.

· April 4: 2:30 p.m.

· April 4: 6:30 p.m.

· April 5: 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

A cast of 19 homeschooled teens ages 13 to 19 are participating in this theatre experience highlighting the story of women who are working in the garment industry in 1909. Faced with deplorable working conditions and unfair wages, these women are challenged with leading a worker's strike and becoming a part of history.

"The highlight of this performance is the opportunity it gives us to partner with homeschoolers from the community," said Rodd Robertson, guest director of To See the Stars. "The historical relevance of this show offers an educational element to the experience for these students. As a cast, we've spent a lot of time talking about the differences between 1901 to 1910, and today. From working conditions, to pay, to women's rights, corruption, and tenement slums, the historical highlights are boundless."

Robertson has a degree in communications and writing from M.B.I. To See the Stars will be the third show directed by Robertson and it will be his first show directed at DreamWrights.

"We're thrilled to have a historical drama be Rodd's first show with us," said Ann Davis, executive director of DreamWrights. "DreamWrights theatre actually used to be an old sewing factory. There's a lot of history here and we're looking forward to making that history come alive."

General admission tickets are available for $8.00 and reserved seating tickets are available for $12.00. To order, visit www.dreamwrights.org or call 717-848-8623.
