Act II Playhouse is proud to announce its Spring Spotlight Series, with a variety of great comedy and music events.

The upcoming performances are:
A Family Concert with singer/songwriter Chana Rothman, on Sunday, Jan. 29 at 11 a.m.
Stand-Up Comedy with America's Got Talent quarter-finalist Julia Scotti, on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 8 p.m.
Great Girl Songs: Old to New, on Sunday, March 26 at 8 p.m.
Irish singer/songwriter Gerry Timlin, on Sunday, May 21 at 7 p.m.; and
Eddie Bruce Celebrates the Music of Tony Bennett, on Sunday, June 4 at 7 p.m.

ABOUT CHANA ROTHMAN
Sunday, Jan. 29 at 11 a.m.
Tickets: $8 for kids, $10 for adults
Chana Rothman is a Philadelphia-based singer/songwriter, musical community organizer, and educator. She has performed locally, at Philadelphia's World Cafe Live and Tin Angel, and internationally, throughout Europe, Israel, and South Africa. Rothman's music is a unique blend of folk, world beat and hip-hop, aiming to break down barriers towards consciousness and change. Her family album, Rainbow Train, was named one of the best albums of 2015 by WXPN's Kathy O'Connell.

ABOUT JULIA SCOTTI
Saturday, February 11 at 8 p.m.

Julia Scotti is a nationally headlining comedian, former teacher, author, speaker, and woman of transgendered experience.
Originally from Fairview, New Jersey, Julia was a quarter-finalist on Season 11 of America's Got Talent in 2016. She was a judge's favorite with Simon Cowell saying "you genuinely made me laugh", and Howie Mandel quoted as saying "you have so much to offer, you are a joy." In 2012, Julia had been named one of the Top Five Transgender Comedians in the country by Advocate Magazine. Since then, she has gone on to become the first transgendered woman and finalist in the New York Based Ladies of Laughter Competition. She has performed at the Boston Comedy Festival, and in 2014 was one of the winners of the Laughlin Laugh Festival in Nevada.

ABOUT GERRY TIMLIN
Sunday, May 21 at 7 p.m.

A great favorite in the USA and Canada, this Pennsylvania-based singer has enjoyed success all over the world. He was born in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, where he developed an early interest in traditional Irish music and in folk music. From the beginning, Gerry displayed a musical talent, winning several singing competitions in Northern Ireland when he was still in his teens. He moved to the USA in the early seventies, and has been delighting audiences with his smooth baritone voice and his irreverent humor ever since.

ABOUT Eddie Bruce
Sunday, June 4 at 7 p.m.

A passionate fan of jazz standards, especially the music of Tony Bennett, it's no surprise that Eddie Bruce has become one of the nation's foremost interpreters of Bennett's music. Bob Perkins of WRTI Radio said, "Eddie Bruce's tribute to Tony Bennett ranks with the best programs I've been fortunate enough to witness. Eddie has honed his craft to the point of excellence!"
