WallByrd Theatre Announces 2019-2020 Season

WallByrd Theatre Co. is announcing that they will be returning to classics for their 2019-2020 Season.

Since 2014, WallByrd has been creating immersive productions that mix the traditional theatre experience with a new pop-culture vitality. Whether it's a Mad-Max"Macbeth", an immersive "The Importance of Being Earnest", or the award-winning anime infused "Romeo and Juliet", WallByrd is dedicated to bringing audiences back to classics in ways that inspire the imagination and ignites a love for the theatrical experience.

This season, WallByrd Theatre is making it more affordable than ever with new subscription ticket packages. Subscribers to their three shows season receive a ticket to every show with packages starting as low as $10 per ticket.

When Jason announces he is leaving his wife and two young children for another woman, Medea is forced to confront how alone she truly is. This modern re-telling of "Medea" explores the isolation of modern motherhood, and the physical and psychological tolls that can push a woman to her breaking point.

A unique take on one of theatre's oldest tragic plays, this production represents WallByrd's first venture into the realm of new play development.

Light on luck (and money), John Falstaff sets his sights on two wealthy housewives with plans to seduce his way out of debt and into the lap of luxury.Unfortunately for him, these two witty wives of Windsor may be more than he bargained for. Mayhem and laughter abound as Falstaff is launched into a mess of his own making, filled to the brim with petty squabbles, jealous spouses, biting banter, and all of it orchestrated by two clever country ladies.

But wishes are dangerous things, and the company soon finds themselves drowning in a sea of possibilities; lost and unable to find a way back to where (and who) they were before.

Founded in 2014, WallByrd Theatre Co. is a theatrical art production company based in Rochester, NY. For entertainment lovers seeking art as intelligent as it is enjoyable, WallByrd pulls forth modern themes and humor from classic works through an infusion of European performance technique and a heavy dose of art history.
