SONGS FROM A GLASS HALF FULL Gets Sharon Springs Workshop, 7/27-28
Gail P. Luna and 204 Main presents SONGS FROM A GLASS HALF FULL, a musical revue, about the different perspectives we take toward the moments in our lives, with lyrics by Sharon Springs' very own Drew Taylor and music by Robert Cioffi, will be tested tonight, July 27 and July 28th at BANK in Sharon Springs, New York, in anticipation for its Manhattan premiere. The premiere in Sharon Springs will help to benefit the renovation/restoration of Chalybeate Park.
Drew Taylor directs the project. He’s not only a veteran Broadway performer with many shows to his credit such as THE SECRET GARDEN, ANNIE, GIGI, SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS, and The Radio City Music Hall, but also an accomplished playwright and lyricist. Robert Cioffi, an accomplished composer and musician, has written scores for such projects as off-Broadway production of DORIAN, The musical of Dorian Gray, DEAR MILI and THE FLOWERING THORN. Drew Taylor and Robert Cioffi have previously collaborated on the musical ONE WAY TICKET TO HELL, produced regionally and in Los Angeles where it garnered 5 Ovation Nominations including “outstanding world premiere of a new musical”.
We are thrilled to have the talented cast lead by Nancy Johnston (ELF, THE SECRET GARDEN, THE MUSIC MAN) Fred Rose (CYRANO, COMPANY, PHANTOM) and Lindsie VanWinkle (national tour of WHITE CHRISTMAS) and Seth Danner (international tour of A CHORUS LINE).
Drew Taylor and Robert Cioffi have been able to deliver a piece of work that is inspiring. The show is about 4 strangers who meet and examine their lives through romantic, awkward and sometimes humorous moments and ultimately ask each other, themselves and you, is your glass half empty or half full, and by glass we mean life…of course.
