Jewish Community Center Of Greater Buffalo's Annual Meeting to Take Place Thursday, June 28
The Jewish Community Center of Greater Buffalo will report on achievements, upcoming plans for facility and program enhancements, and will feature guest presentations from JCC members, at its Annual Meeting, to be held Thursday, June 28, 7 pm in the Maxine and Robert Seller Theatre/Rochwager Auditorium, at the JCC Benderson Family Building, located at 2640 North Forest Road, Getzville, NY. The meeting will also feature the presentation of the Ralph Kushner Volunteer Service Award to Janet Desmon, in honor of her exceptional volunteer contributions to the Jewish Community Center.
"Janet is one of the JCC's most valuable volunteers," says Richard Zakalik, JCC Executive Director. "Her willingness to take on challenging tasks to create successful fundraising for programs for the JCC is unparalleled. She has been an exemplary board member, employing her own creative brand of wit and wisdom to design engaging programs that inspire others to get involved and participate."
Included in the Annual Meeting will be a financial report. "The fiscal year ending March 31, 2018 was a year of tremendous progress for the JCC of Greater Buffalo on many fronts," says Zakalik. "Enhancements at Camp Centerland on the Irving M. Shuman Campgrounds, strengthening of the JCC Board of Trustees, extensive renovations at the Holland Family Building on Delaware Avenue and the fulfillment of major Strategic Plan objectives have contributed to a more sustainable and thriving JCC this year. We look forward to the next twelve months, which will include completion of renovations at Holland and an exciting reinvigoration of the Grossman Family Outdoor Pool Complex."
