Jane Monheit to Play CM Performing Arts Center, 10/3

CM Performing Arts Center welcomes home for one night only on August 3, Jane Monheit. The Grammy-nominated vocalist returns to her roots after releasing her ninth studio album The Heart Of The Matter. Jane Monheit has been a leading light in both the jazz and cabaret worlds since emerging as a finalist in the Thelonious Monk Institute's 1998 vocal competition. In addition to her own recordings, she has worked alongside the likes of Terence Blanchard, Tom Harrell, and Ivan Lins. She has made some of the best memories from her early years involved with Connectquot music and theater departments and performances at CM Performing Arts Center. She has now, after 2 decades of performing, finding herself, becoming a mother and wife, is hailed by the NY Times as "One of the most refreshing and distinctive voices in modern jazz".
