Hardscrabble Theater is proud to announce that it will be taking part in the Village of Farmingdale's Cultural Arts Festival this year. We will be presenting a recreation of a live radio comedy from the 1940's: Fanny Brice's 'Baby Snooks and Daddy: The Ugly Duckling'.

Fanny Brice was an American comedian, singer and actress. She was the creator of the top-rated radio series 'The Baby Snooks Show'. One of her most famous characters was Baby Snooks, a bratty toddler, a role she premiered in a Ziegfeld Follies skit co-written by Moss Hart. When her radio show began she was 40 years old. Thirteen years after her death she was portrayed on the Broadway stage by Barbara Streisand in the 1964 musical 'Funny Girl' and its 1968 film adaptation, for which Streisand won an Oscar.

Hardscrabble Theater will be recreating one of the episodes of her hit radio show as part of Cultural Arts Festival on the Village Green. Events start at noon, with the radio play taking the stage at 8:30pm. Whether you know who Fanny Brice is or not, this promises to be a lot of fun! And it is free of charge!

We have a fabulous cast of actors featuring professional voice-over artists. As always, Hardscrabble Theater will not disappoint!
