Gamut Theatre Stage Door Series presents Moliere's TARTUFFE

By: Sep. 08, 2017

Gamut Theatre Group kicks off their 25th Anniversary Season with a Stage Door Series Production of Moliere's Tartuffe, on September 15, 2017 at Gamut Theatre located at 15 N. 4th Street in downtown Harrisburg.

Banned when it was first presented, Molière's Tartuffe is satire of religious hypocrisy at its funniest. Witness the hilarity as Tartuffe wreaks havoc on an unsuspecting family of French nobility. Will he get away with it? Find out when Gamut's Stage Door Series presents a staged reading of this funny and prescient play by one of France's most renowned and beloved playwrights.

Stage Door Series performances take place in our beautiful and intimate Capital Blue Lobby. The box office and Peggy's Pub will open at 6:30 p.m. and the performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets to the performance are Bring Your Own Price, where any size donation buys your admission. Tartuffe will continue September 15-24, 2017 with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Admission is Bring Your Own Price, where any size donation buys your ticket.

The Stage Door Series complements and builds upon Gamut's Mainstage season, through the presentation of engaging and educational workshop productions that highlight the essential elements of theatre: the text, the story, and the action.

About the Stage Door Series:
Stage Door productions have included radio theatre, staged readings, development of original works by local playwrights, and combat showcases; presented with the intention of reaching new audiences, involving new members of the arts community, and providing accessible theatrical experiences to the greater Harrisburg area.

While the Stage Door Series maintains the professional theatrical standard of Gamut Theatre, all participation in Stage Door productions is volunteer, and admission for every production is by donation only, as defined by our motto: "Come as you are; pay what you will."
