CORNucopia Returns to Philipsburg Manor this Labor Day Weekend
A sweet way to send off summer, CORNucopia returns to Philipsburg Manor in Sleepy Hollow this Labor Day weekend. Families looking for the perfect way to wrap a summer of fun can check out the crafts, live music, and tasty treats at this celebration of all things corny. The event takes place Saturday through Monday, Sept. 2-4, from 10am-5pm each day.
Kids can get hands-on with activities like crafting cornhusk brooms, making their own butter, and designing scarecrows. They'll race to the finish in the child-sized "mini maize maze" and the corn-shucking contest, and test their skills in a variety of corn-themed games.
Live bluegrass and folk music by the Tappan Cowboys entertains visitors throughout the day. Revelers fond of two-stepping can put their best foot forward during the barn dances with the help of a caller. A juggler performs a-maize-ing feats with ears of corn and more.
Food selections available for purchase include fresh roasted corn, veggie corn burgers, corn tortilla casserole, cornbread, corn muffins, kettle corn, and popcorn, plus draft beers and draft root beer from Captain Lawrence Brewery. Blue Pig of Croton-on-Hudson will feature sweet corn ice cream.
Online tickets sold in advance are $16 for adults; $12 for seniors; $8 for children 3-17; and free for children under 3 and for Historic Hudson Valley members. Tickets are available online at www.hudsonvalley.org. They are $2 more when purchased on site.
More about Philipsburg Manor
