Adirondack Theatre Festival (ATF) announces its 24th season - the fourth for Producing Artistic Director, Chad Rabinovitz. Rabinovitz will again bring an entire season of major new works to ATF with a team of top-level professional artists, offering experiences that cannot be found anywhere else in the world - only in Glens Falls. After a record-breaking season of sold-out performances last year, doubling attendance and subscribership in just the past three years, the 2018 season promises to be even larger. In fact, the season will be one week longer than ever before in order to accommodate the large-scale productions. Performances will run June 14 - August 9 at the Charles R. Wood Theater, 207 Glen Street, in Downtown Glens Falls, NY.

FLEXIBLE, AUDIENCE-FRIENDLY SUBSCRIPTION PACKAGE

With ATF's popular Subscription Package, season subscribers can use their tickets for any show, any time. Subscribers can use one ticket for each performance or all tickets for one performance. Ticket reservations can be changed to any performance without any exchange fees. If a subscriber is out of town for a performance, they can see another show twice or give their ticket to a friend. Subscribers also have the opportunity to reserve their favorite seats first before single tickets go on sale on April 1.

3 pass - $95 (save $40 off single tickets)

5 pass - $125 (save $100)

7 pass - $150 (save $165)

Packages and tickets to individual shows may be purchased by calling (518) 480-4878 or visiting the Wood Theater Box Office.

SUBSCRIBE IT FORWARD - AN INNOVATIVE INITIATIVE THAT CHANGES HOW THEATERS GROW

Last year's subscribers who choose to renew will get the gift of a FREE additional subscription to give to any friend who was not a subscriber to the previous season. ATF is the only theatre in the WORLD offering this innovative initiative that celebrates the loyalty of its core supporters.

If a subscriber from last year purchases a 5 Pass then they will receive an additional 5 Pass to gift to a friend. If they purchase a 7 Pass, they'll get a 7 Pass. Next season, both the Subscriber and the Subscribe It Forward recipient will have the opportunity to renew and Subscribe It Forward again. Now ATF's loyal patrons can bring a new friend with them for an entire summer. It's also a great reason to subscribe for the first time, since next year you'll be able to Subscribe It Forward!

EPIC ADVENTURE MUSICAL

LOCH NESS

Music & Book by Marshall Pailet

Lyrics & Book by A.D. Penedo

Directed by Marshall Pailet

Presented by Special Arrangement with Victoria Lang, Mark Schwartz, Carl White and Gregory Rae

July 5-14

On the mysterious waters of the Scottish Highlands, a young girl discovers herself - and a legendary creature - in this epic new musical adventure. Equally hilarious and heartwarming, LOCH NESS takes us on a magical journey about finding your way...where you least expect it.

  • LOCH NESS will have the same director and design team as NIKOLA TESLA DROPS THE BEAT

  • Best described as "War Horse on Water" - will be working with a specialty puppetry company in NYC to design and build a large-scale Loch Ness monster puppet

"LOCH NESS is certainly unlike anything ATF has done before. A larger-than-life, Disney-style musical that plays to adults but is great for the whole family. I can't wait to see that giant Loch Ness monster on our stage! And with the TESLA team back together, this might just end up being the biggest show we've ever produced." - Chad Rabinovitz

NOSTALGIA-FILLED DRAMATIC COMEDY

THE JEDI HANDBOOK

By Stephen Massicotte

Directed by Chad Rabinovitz

July 20-27

A not so long time ago in a theatre not so far away came a film that rocked the galaxy, changing both cinema and schoolyards forever...

The Jedi Handbook is a coming of age story about a young boy who survives growing older with help from The Force. Experiencing the Star Wars franchise anew, through the eyes and imagination of a kid, The Jedi Handbook takes us on a nostalgic journey back to an era we can all relate to - our childhood.

  • By Canadian playwright, Stephen Massicotte, who is best known for MARY'S WEDDING. He is the winner of numerous Canadian awards.

  • The Jedi Handbook has three parts and has only been seen in its entirety in Calgary. ATF will be working with the playwright on a new, condensed version.

"THE JEDI HANDBOOK is a coming of age story that checks in on a young boy's life as each of the first three Star Wars films are released. When A New Hope is released, he's moving to a new town and learning to make friends. With Empire Strikes Back, he and his best friend are dating girls for the first time. And with Return of the Jedi, he's moving apart from his friend and having to sell his Star Wars toys. Ultimately, it's a story about whether growing older means that you have to grow up. It's a heartfelt and hysterical human story that is just as great if you're a fan of the films or if you've never even seen them (but seriously, how could you not have seen them?) I can't say enough good things about this show!

With a golden-era Broadway score, dazzling dance numbers, loves lost (and found again), and non-stop fun, FRONT PAGE FLO is the world premiere musical that feels like seeing a classic for the very first time!

  • George Pinney is an Emmy-winner and Tony-nominee for his Broadway production of BLAST.

  • Larry Kass is a two-time Emmy nominee.

  • With a cast of 13, it will be ATF's largest show in history
