SSM Summer Vocal Institute

The Summer Vocal Institute at Shattuck-St. Mary’s School provides high school students in the region with a world-class opportunity to work on their vocal technique and performing skills right in their own backyard!

This five-day intensive institute prepares students for bigger musical experiences in their future, whether that means auditioning for a main role in their local school or community theater or preparing for a music degree in college at a major national program.

During their five days at SVI, students will get two private one-hour lessons with nationally renowned vocal teachers, two hours of theater and body work every day, five classes on subjects varying from vocal health to requirements for a college music degree, four master classes with our world-class vocal faculty, a guided listening lab experience into great recordings and performances, and a final performance the last day of the program.
