WELCOME TO SOOP'S TOTALLY REIMAGINED SUMMER PROGRAM FOR A VIRTUAL WORLD! ALL OF THESE WORKSHOPS ARE COMPLETELY ONLINE AND CAN BE DONE FROM ANYWHERE YOU HAPPEN TO BE - HOME, THE MOUNTAINS, YOUR BEACH HOUSE - WHEREVER THE SUMMER MAY TAKE YOU! WE HAVE INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAMS FROM GRADES K - 8 AND PRE-PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMS FROM GRADES 9 -12

COOL Summer SOOP / Grades K - 8 (taught by SOOP master teacher Jennie Boone)

Our standard Workshops re-imagined! All classes will be online and hosted via zoom. Students will sing, dance, and imagine costumes and sets, and use some artistic skills to develop a backdrop for their character straight from their home using materials they already have. Each age level will record their singing (with a grownups help) on a very easy to navigate website. All acting and scene work will be recorded during class time and put together for a final presentation you can keep for years to come. What a great time to use the imagination and create something fun!

Hu-mAnimation! / Grades K - 8 (taught by Broadways John Treacy Egan)

Welcome to a new world of theater. Welcome to Hu-mAnimation! It can be frustrating to work hard at creating a performance that no one can see. Hu-mAnimation, created by Broadways John Treacy Egan, is a Live Stream Theater Class where students write, perform, interact, and create a finished performance through edited videos that can be viewed and shared.

Road to PRO / Grades 9 - 12 (taught by Michael Kostroff, Matthew Corozine, Sheri Sanders, Gayle Seay)

The latest in SOOP’s ongoing effort to stretch and challenge our student body, the Road To Pro program invites industry professionals – actors, directors, teachers, coaches, casting associates – to come work with our teens/college students and expand their purview while they consider the entertainment industry as a serious possibility for themselves. Imagining a career in the entertainment field is not a pre-requisite, though – anyone wishing to learn more and improve their skills is welcome to learn from the best!
