Kids' Theatre Workshop

The Kids' Theatre Workshop is part of the youth programming of the Tibbits Opera Foundation and Arts Council in Coldwater, Michigan, housed in the Tibbits Opera House, an 1882 theatre with a 500-seat house. The week-long summer workshop explores all aspects of theatre, both on stage and off, and acting sessions are divided into a morning group for students in grades 7-12 and an afternoon group for grades 3-6. Tibbits offers year-round youth activity alongside the workshop, including Summer Popcorn Theatre performances on Friday and Saturday mornings, Tibbits Young Audiences for grades 4-8, which produces a fall play and a spring musical with a cast of about 50 students, and Tibbits Theatre and Beyond for students in grades 6-12, who gain experience performing, producing and working backstage on professional and community productions.
