REAL Training. REAL Experience.
Indiana University's Midsummer Theatre Camp is a dynamic three-week immersive theatre and drama institute designed especially for young people serious about studying theatre. Meant to mimic a summer stock theatre experience, the program includes classes and rehearsals leading to public performance. Classes are taught by IU faculty, outstanding teaching assistants, and professional guest artists. Together, students and theatre professionals share the common endeavor of building an intensive ensemble who will work together to present public performances of CHICAGO: TEEN EDITION. Just like in summer stock, the cast will help prepare the technical elements for the production as well. The program is presented in partnership with STAGES BLOOMINGTON.
Over the years, the Midsummer Theatre Camp has enjoyed tremendous success. We will accept 20 dedicated students from around the country for this challenging and rewarding theatrical training experience. Students who have completed their freshman year of high school are eligible for the camp.
Our Musical Theatre program focuses on triple-threat training: acting, singing and dancing including one-on-one coaching sessions for audition material.
