Brown Ledge Camp

Brown Ledge Camp is a residential summer camp for girls ages 10 to 17 on the shore of Lake Champlain at Malletts Bay in Colchester, Vermont, a few miles from Burlington. Celebrating its 100th season, the camp is run by the nonprofit Brown Ledge Foundation and is ACA accredited. Its defining Freedom of Choice program has no set daily schedule: campers choose among 18 activities each day, including horseback riding and horsemanship, tennis on five clay courts, sailing, windsurfing, swimming, diving, waterskiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, canoeing, archery and riflery, arts and crafts, and theater and dance. Counselors teach in a single department and are chosen for expertise in that activity. Sessions run four or eight weeks, with tiered tuition and need-based Marjorie P. Brown scholarships.
