Berkeley Rep Summer Intensive

The Berkeley Rep School of Theatre, the education arm of Berkeley Repertory Theatre, offers summer camps for students in grades 1-12 at its facility at 2071 Addison Street in downtown Berkeley. The Summer Theatre Intensive for rising grades 6-8 and 9-12 runs Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM, with daily acting, improv, voice and movement classes plus electives such as playwriting, stage combat and on-camera acting; students collaborate with a professional playwright and director to create an original play performed on a Berkeley Rep stage on the final day of camp. Other camps include Summer Theatre Camp: Play Creation for rising grades 1-5, a Summer Film Intensive covering screenwriting, directing, acting and editing, and a two-week Musical Theatre Intensive: Broadway Bound for rising grades 9-12. Registration for 2027 camps opens in January.

Camps are offered for grades 1-12 at the School of Theatre, 2071 Addison Street. Summer Theatre Intensive (rising grades 6-8 and 9-12) meets Mon-Fri 9:00 AM-4:00 PM. Summer Theatre Camp: Play Creation (rising grades 1-5) meets Mon-Fri 9:00 AM-4:00 PM with optional after care 4:00-5:30 PM, Mon-Thu, for $100. Summer Film Intensive (rising grades 9-12) meets Mon-Fri 4:30-7:30 PM. Musical Theatre Intensive: Broadway Bound (rising grades 9-12) is a two-week program meeting Mon-Fri 11:00 AM-4:30 PM. Registration for 2027 camps opens in January, with an early bird discount, 10% off for season subscribers and 15% off for Blue Star families. Payment plans and limited partial financial aid are available.
