Award-winning, Los Angeles-based jazz vocalist Tish Oney debuts at The Metropolitan Room (34 W. 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Friday, August 14 at 9:45 pm in her touring cabaret show, "The Peggy Lee Project."

This one-night-only performance celebrates the songwriting talents of the late, great Peggy Lee and features Oney's contemporary jazz arrangements of songs co-written by Lee with Duke Ellington, Harold Arlen, Victor Young, Dave Barbour and several other classic American Songbook composers. Peggy Lee composed lyrics to over 270 songs, although most remain relatively unknown. The Peggy Lee Project features songs audiences will know and love as well as several rarely-heard gems.

Tish will be joined by jazz recording artists Jeff Barone on guitar and Paul Beaudry on bass to present this important tribute to a songwriting genius.

Oney's 2008 CD, "Dear Peg" was co-produced by Peggy Lee's former music director, John Chiodini, and released on the Rhombus label, garnering widespread acclaim and airplay.

"Tish Oney does Peggy Lee and her songs prouder than anyone in contemporary times and should give more famous singers like Diana Krall, Dianne Reeves or Jane Monheit pause for concern. She's firmly
on their trail." -- AllMusic.com

Tickets are $15 plus a 2 drink minimum. For more information see www.tishoney.com or www.metropolitanroom.com.
