About Rodgers & Hammerstein: The Sound of Their Music: Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin'! Cabaret in the Country, the celebrated cabaret series at The Philipstown Depot Theatre, salutes the two men who paved the way for modern musical theatre with hit after hit, including The Sound of Music, South Pacific, Carousel, Oklahoma!, The King & I & Flower Drum Song, among others. Not only are tunes such as Hello, Young Lovers, I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair, If I Loved You & Edelweiss part of the lexicon of popular music, the indelible stamp they left on Broadway redefined the American musical. Join us as we present some of Broadway's most intriguing voices, along with a dose of brilliant local talent, all singing their favorite R&H tunes! It'll be Some Enchanted Evening, for sure.

Rodgers and Hammerstein: The Sound of Their Music features a rotating cast of Broadway luminaries, saluting the work of these two masters. Expect your favorite tunes from R&H's legendary works for the theatre, accompanied by some of Broadway's most esteemed pit musicians. The evening is hosted by series creator Phil Geoffrey Bond, who will offer insight into and facts about each show covered, with music direction by John Fischer.
