Queer Baby Jesus To Premiere In The Lounge At Dixon Place

Queer Baby Jesus (Book by Jacob Jarrett and Nina Roy, Music and Lyrics by Jacob Jarrett) tells the story of Jo (a non-binary trans-masculine Catholic) and Mara (a queer Atheist Jewish woman), a couple searching for an accepting faith community. Shortly after joining a Unitarian Universalist congregation, an Angel appears to Jo and tells them Mara is pregnant with the second coming of Jesus. Confused by the biological impossibility of her pregnancy, Mara takes twenty seven pregnancy tests, all confirming she is indeed with child. Together, Mara and Jo are forced to confront their faith, their new congregation, and what it means to start a family.

Queer Baby Jesus will be presented as a staged reading In The Lounge at Dixon Place on March 7th at 8pm. For tickets, visit www.dixonplace.org.

Casting for this staged reading includes Futaba Shioda*, Ariella Serur*, Joshua Dominique, Kat Griffin, Jasen Miyamoto, Alision Ormsby, and Priya Mahendra.
