Photo Flash: Natalie Douglas Performs at Birdland
Award-winning singer Natalie Douglas has performed several dozen concerts on the Birdland stage over the past ten years. Each time, she packs the room with an ever-growing fan base eager to cheer her inimitable voice, exquisitely-produced shows and passion-filled, hilarious conversation.
This past Monday was no exception when Natalie, musical director Mark Hartman and their band of Broadway All-Stars brought "The Birthday Show" to the historic music room. From Carly Simon to Nina Simone, the material was diverse and eclectic, although the audience seemed to particularly enjoy serenading 'their diva'' with a rousing rendition of "Happy Birthday!"
The Broadway at Birdland concert series takes place every Monday night at 7pm, and has presented performers from the Great White Way including Liza Minnelli, Chita Rivera, Jason Robert Brown, Stephanie J. Block, Frank Wildhorn, Jeff Daniels, Cheyenne Jackson and Christine Ebersole.
