Nancy Wilson Jazz Tribute Comes to 54 Below

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents jazz quintet The Café Society as they honor "the grand diva of jazz," Nancy Wilson, on February 1, 2019 at 9:30pm. This carefully curated tribute features a selection of Nancy's songs interwoven with captivating details about her life and music. From her early jazz collaborations with George Shearing and Cannonball Adderley to her biggest R&B hits, enjoy the best of Nancy Wilson as interpreted by this Brooklyn-based group of professional jazz musicians.

The Café Society's tribute to Nancy Wilson plays Feinstein's/54 Below (254 West 54th Street) on February 1, 2019 at 9:30pm. There is a $25-$65 cover charge and $25 food and beverage minimum. MORE ABOUT THE CAFE SOCIETY

In the 1940s, there was one integrated jazz club in New York City where all the greats played: Café Society in the West Village. Today, The Café Society is a Brooklyn-based group of professional jazz musicians led by saxophonist Justin Flynn, bassist Jim Greene, and vocalist Emily Wade Adams. Together with some of the city's most sought-after musicians, they deliver soulful, classic jazz standards without any pretense.

MORE ABOUT EMILY WADE ADAMS

Hailing from Cape Cod, Emily attended Wake Forest University as a Presidential Scholar for Voice before moving to San Francisco, where she performed with Ray of Light Theatre as Mrs. Walker in The Who's Tommy, Shawntel in Jerry Springer: The Opera, and Marty in Grease (starring Beth Behrs). She also sang with the San Francisco Symphony and fronted a retro R&B band called the Cosmo Alleycats, with whom she performed at Yoshi's, the Boom Boom Room, and the Fillmore Street Jazz Festival. In 2013, Emily returned to the East Coast, and has since appeared at Feinstein's/54 Below, the Cotuit Center for the Arts, Wellfleet Preservation Hall, and the Spire Center for the Performing Arts with her cabaret tribute to Amy Winehouse, Love is Blind. She performs regularly with her band, The Café Society, and provides backing vocals for various recordings. This summer, she will appear as Freddie Mercury at the Cotuit Center for the Arts' tribute to Queen, We Are the Champions.
