NYC Jazz Singer Martha Lorin Returns In SPRING IS HERE
Acclaimed New York jazz singer Martha Lorin brings her show "Spring Is Here" to the Arthur Newman Theatre in Palm Desert on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 2 PM. Joining Ms. Lorin will be local musician Doug MacDonald on acoustic guitar. Tickets are $15 cash only at the box office that opens at 1 PM and is presented by Les Michael's Summer Cabaret On Sundays Series, now in it's 10th season.
Martha Lorin, who follows an endless list of relatives in the music business, made her debut in 1979 at the famed Hungry Eye nightclub in San Francisco's North Beach. The next year she collaborated with composer Frank Collette to release her first album to critics praises. Her brilliant tone and interpretation of lyrics led to appearances in major music venues on both coasts including Carnegie Hall and recently a one year engagement at Café Noctambulo in NYC's East Village, along with tours of the US, and Internationally. She is a Back Stage Bistro and Billboard Award winner who's CD's include; "The Best Is Yet To Come", "The Time Is Now", "Blues Over Broadway", "Come Walk With Me", "I'll Remember You" and "Don't Slam That Door". For her show "Spring Is Here", Martha will sing Standards from The Great American Songbook backed by well-known guitarist, Doug MacDonald, who plays weekly at local venues in the Palm Springs area.
