MargOH! Channing Comes To Duplex Cabaret With New Show 5/20

By:

Much loved gay icon MargOH! Channing returns this May with an all new show! After selling out shows around the world MargOH! is back to celebrate her 62nd birthday in style with a brand new show at The Duplex Cabaret, What makes a legend drink more? May 20 , 9:30 PM at The Duplex Cabaret, 61 Christopher Street on the corner of 7th Ave south in Greenwich village.

This time around, MargOH! will be fusing her raucous onstage persona and famously bombastic voice with The Jarad Astin Trio and backed by the vocal styling's of the MargOH!-tini's. MargOH! will perform songs made famous by Petula Clark, Shirley Bassey, Eartha Kitt and Salt -n- Pepa to name a few. As part of the celebration she will be joined by her long time 'gay fiance' MAN-ee Champagne and some surprise guests to be announced as she reminisces about her family, lovers and the ups and downs of her career.

MargOH! Channing is the most decorated extra in the history of motion pictures and television having appeared in over 1,800 films and the recipient of 7 Exies. Meryl Streep once told her that Your ability to do nothing in the background is amazing and Sally Field once mentioned that MargOH!'s fake banter oozes realism.

Her hilarious stage shows have become something of an event on the downtown scene and are always must-sees for her ardent fans. MargOH!'s last show, What Makes a Legend Drink Most?, was received with such excitement that she was forced to add a date at The Duplex with Raw: A Command Performance, her sell-out special which featured a surprise appearance from good friend Nellie McKay.

This Summer MargOH! will be making pride appearances in San Diego, New York and Barcelona, cementing her status as a cherished gay icon.

After speaking by phone with Ms. Channing she says herself; I'm so thrilled to be returning to the New York stage and not a moment too soon, much like everyone else, I've become a victim of the bad economy and have been forced to sell Avon in between extra roles so as well as entertaining the kids, I'll be handing out catalogues for deals on Skin so soft and Lip gloss, a legends work is never done.

What makes a legend drink more? takes place on May 20 at The Duplex Cabaret, 61 Christopher Street on the corner of 7th Ave south in Greenwich Village Show 9:30. Cover is $15 plus 2 drink minimum. Reservations required. (212) 255-5438
