The Laurie Beechman Theatre is pleased to announce their inaugural Tony party, THE TONY'S AT THE BEECH. Come view the Tony's on the big screen with your fellow theatre fans. Will it be Patti or Kelli? Heights or Strange? Gypsy or South Pacific?  Come join your fellow theatre folk and find out.

The Tony's will be broadcast on Sunday, June 15. At the Beechman, the house opens at 7pm and the broadcast begins at 8pm. There is no cover charge for this event, and there is a 2 drink or $15 food/beverage minimum. Full bar, dinner and appetizer menus are available. The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located within The West Bank Cafe, 407 West 42nd St. (at 9th Ave). Reservations are highly recommended, and may be made by calling 212 695 6909.

Presenters for the 62nd annual Tony Awards will include Alec Baldwin, Kristin Chenoweth, Glenn Close, Richard Griffiths, Laura Linney, John Lithgow, Liza Minnelli, Mary-Louise Parker, Daniel Radcliffe, Brooke Shields and Marisa Tomei. Whoopi Goldberg will host.

As previously announced, the 2008 Tony Awards will feature performances from the casts of Rent and The Lion King. The original principal cast of Jonathan Larson's Rent will join the show's current company to celebrate the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical's lengthy run, which ends Sept. 7 at the Nederlander Theatre. The current company of the Tony-winning musical The Lion King will also perform on the Tony telecast to celebrate the show's 10th anniversary; in fact, the Disney musical will open the telecast with Circle of Life.

The Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. CBS has broadcast the annual event since 1978.
