LYRICS FOR A CAUSE Cabaret In NYC Benefits Malignant Hypertheria

Outstanding performers with broadway and national tour credentials, as well as other talented youth will take part in the LYRICS FOR A CAUSE Cabaret, in conjunction with Spotlight Kidz, will be held this Saturday at the Laurie Beechman Theater in New York City.

The cabaret will give donations to the Malignant Hyperthermia Association of the United States (MHAUS). March is Malignant Hyperthermia Awareness Month.

This cabaret is being produced by Sandy Kost-Sterner who is the director of the Spotlight Kidz (Pottsville, Pennsylvania). Kost-Sterner was diagnosed with Malignant Hyperthermia two years ago this month. In addition to making donation to MHAUS, she hopes to build awareness for this genetic skeletal-muscle disease whose main trigger is certain gases in general anesthesia

Analise Scarpaci (pictured) (Matilda, The Christmas Story) will serve as the host for this brunch performance. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. Show begins at 11:00 a.m. Analise has been in Spotlight Kidz event in past having been a guest performer at their annual "In the Spotlight" show held each July in NYC.

Additional Broadway performers include Timothy Yang (The King and I) and newcomers Catherine Ashmore Bradley and Grace DeAmicis who earlier this month joined the broadway cast of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child"

National tour cast members Jacob Morrell (Kinky Boots) and Jaiden Klein (How the Grinch Stole Christmas) along with Kaylin Hedges (Annie at the Hollywood Bowl) are joined by Vivienne Colette, Alexis Jade Meloe, Ariela Rozentul and Spotlight Kidz members Rhea McNally, Kalli Smith, Thea Sten and Madeline Wittig along with Ella Frantz.

Music director is Jason Wetzel.

Spotlight Kidz is based in Pottsville, Pennsylvania and offers unique performance opportunities for it's students. In addition to singing at the annual "In The Spotlight" cabaret each July with Broadway professionals, the Spotlight Kidz have had the honor of singing as such places as the 9/11 Memorial in NYC, Philadelphia Phillies, the Little League World Series, Harlem Globetrotters and Villanova basketball. Most recently, the Spotlight Kidz sang at Radio City Music Hall and were joined by Broadway's Emerson Davis (Once on this Island), Mckayla Twiggs (Les Miserable, Once, Anastasia) and Ellie Kim (School of Rock).
