Kaleigh Cronin, Joel Perez & More to Join Songwriting Team McGuire & Simon at Laurie Beechman, 5/11

On Monday, May 11, musical theatre songwriting team Janine McGuire and Arri Lawton Simon will present an evening of their original music in "McGuire & Simon: Looking Forward." Joining them will be Kennedy Caughell (Elphaba understudy in Wicked national tour, American Idiot national tour), Christiana Cole (Laurie Partridge in off-Broadway The Bardy Bunch), Chris Critelli (Xanadu - Chicago), Kaleigh Cronin (Sally Bowles understudy and Lulu in Cabaret on Broadway, Lorraine in Jersey Boys national tour), Kellie Cullinan, Will Hammons (Figaro in The Barber of Seville at Lyric Opera of New York), Spencer Kiely (Spring Awakening regional premiere), Laura Kleinbaum, Joel Perez (Fun Home on Broadway, In The Heights national tour), Aaron Phillips (primary vocalist for Disney In Concert national tour), and Stephanie Torns (Elphaba understudy in Wicked on Broadway, Elphaba standby in Wicked national tour).

The concert will feature a six-piece band including drummer Clint de Ganon (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical) cellist Mairi Dorman-Phaneuf (The Bridges of Madison County); bassist Mat Fieldes (Matilda), violinist Elizabeth Nielsen (Phantom and Mormon sub), pianist Emily Pirtle (Music Theatre Wichita), and guitarist Jake Ezra Schwartz (The Book of Mormon).

Janine McGuire and Arri Lawton Simon are members of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Advanced Workshop where they are currently developing several full-length musicals. Their songs have been performed at 54 Below, the Laurie Beechman Theatre, Stage 72 at the Triad, and their own McGuire & Simon salon series. Simon is a 2014 Recipient of the Jerry Harrington Award For Outstanding Creative Achievement in Musical Theatre.
