The Eclectic, a new concert series created to "transcend musical boundaries in an effort to create unity and mutual understanding between musicians and audience members alike," will have its next concert at the 92Y in Tribeca on Thursday October 6, 2011.

The evening features a mix of pop, rock, musical theatre, R & B, folk and jazz performed by jazz musician Jonathan Batiste, Allison Blackwell (Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, The Lion King), Joshua Henry (The Scottsboro Boys, American Idiot), Matt Siffert, Tess Soltau (The Addam's Family), Dennis Stowe (Shrek, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Alfonso Velez, violinist Charles Yang, and Nikki Zanni. Show time is 7:00 PM.

The series aims to "support organizations that enhance the cultural and social well being of NYC and develop and strengthen the community of NYC performers and give them a platform to perform and promote themselves." This concert's theme will be "A Night in New York" and will promote Music Unites, an organization dedicated to bringing music education to underprivileged children in underfunded inner city school systems.

The series is produced by Rashad V. Chambers and Michael T, who also serves as music director and host.

92Y in Tribeca is located at 200 Hudson Street. Tickets are $15 and available at http://www.92y.org/Tribeca/Event/The-Eclectic.aspx.
