Edmund Donovan (Snow Geese), Jon Bass (Book of Mormon) and others to bring HOT FUN IN THE WINTERTIME to Cherry Lane Theatre Dec. 12-21

HOT FUN IN THE WINTERTIME - a late night show comprised of new comedy and music performed live by a pit band - will be presented as part of Cherry Lane Theatre's Late Night Series from December 12 to 21 at Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce St.) in Greenwich Village.

HOT FUN is described as "serious play, bringing brand new, bold fun to the historic Cherry Lane Theatre," one of the most renowned theatre's in the country for championing new voices on stage. The aim of the HOT FUN IN THE WINTERTIME ensemble - comprised of young actors, musicians and writers - is to foster a social environment that is both a lab and platform for engaging new work.

The company and creative team of HOT FUN IN THE WINTERTIME includes Edmund Donovan (SNOW GEESE, "Orange is the New Black"), Jon Bass (BOOK OF MORMON), Kaley Ronayne ("Army Wives," "Carrie Diaries"), Amber Williams ("How to Break"), Nicholas Carter (OUR TOWN, Williamstown Theatre Festival), Amanda Mason (THE ELEPHANT MAN, Williamstown) and Fahid Hamid (THE KITE RUNNER, New Repertory) along with Greg Beam, Craig Fox, Jahna FerRon Smith, FrEd Williams, James Schweitzer and Gil Turetsky. Stephen Elrod - an associate artist with Rogue Artists Ensemble - directs HOT FUN.

HOT FUN IN THE WINTERTIME began in 2012 as HOT FUN IN THE SUMMERTIME - a 90-minute show with actors, a band, a keg, a couch and a sold-out audience.

HOT FUN IN THE WINTERTIME performs at 10 pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from December 12 to 21. Tickets are $10 online and $15 at the door. For tickets and info visit www.hotfuntheatre.org.
