Joan Ryan To Be Joined By Joanna Gleason At Birdland Jazz May 16

After performing last year at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, Joan Ryan, winner of BroadwayWorld's Top Cabaret Artist Award and star of the hit cult favorite musical Ruthless! is thrilled to bring her acclaimed one woman show Joan Ryan Live! to Birdland Jazz on May 16 at 7pm. Joined by special guest star Tony Award-winner Joanna Gleason, the evening will showcase Ryan's fierce four-octave range alongside funny and poignant stories as she entertains the audience with her exciting repertoire of songs from Broadway and Pop Music, from Stephen Sondheim, Rodgers & Hammerstein and Stephen Schwartz to Lady Gaga, Joni Mitchell and Barbra Streisand. Joan Ryan has performed her dynamic one-woman shows to rave reviews and sold-out crowds from coast-to-coast and has performed with some of our most beloved actors of stage and screen including Oscar-winner Forrest Whitaker, Emmy-winner Eric McCormack and Emmy & Oscar-nominee Steve Carell. She was also an original cast member of beloved TV show Saved by the Bell and starred as psychiatrist Kathleen Houghton on The Young and the Restless.

Joan Ryan is the winner of BroadwayWorld's Top Female Cabaret Artist. Her four-octave range led to a recent appearance at famed Carnegie Hall followed by a performance at Lincoln Center. Starring roles include LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, FOOTLOOSE, LES MISERABLES, NUNSENSE, TRIUMPH OF LOVE, ANGRY HOUSEWIVES, NITE CLUB CONFIDENTIAL. Joan originated the role of Judy Denmark/Ginger Del Marco in RUTHLESS! for which she was costumed by fashion icon Bob Mackie. Joan's self-titled debut solo recording remains a best-selling CD.
