Singer / actress / comedienne Joan Crowe will bring her new show, entitled "Joan Crowe in The Key of Comedy," to New York's prestigious Metropolitan Room, on three consecutive Thursday evenings at 7:30 PM - March 13, 20 and 27.

She will be backed by "a dream rhythm section" - renowned bass player and witty composer Jay Leonhart, her longtime collaborator Tedd Firth on piano, and percussionist Matt Wilson. At the March 20 performance Joan will be joined by special guest Bob Dorough, a legendary composer and piano player who will perform some of his own material.

"The Key of Comedy" is a fun-filled show that will pay tribute to the great Jesters of Jazz, the writers of our time who have written not just great jazz tunes but songs that also have a sense of humor. The shows will feature classics by Cab Calloway, Fats Waller, Louis Jordan, Dave Frishberg, Bob Dorough and many more!

There is a $20 cover charge and two drink minimum. For reservations, call 212-206-0440. The Metropolitan Room is located at 34 West 22nd Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues.

"The Key of Comedy" shows are the culmination of a year-long pod-casting project - www.FunnyJazzChick.com - created by and starring Ms. Crowe, which is filmed live on Monday nights at Birdland. Seen in over 63 countries, Ms. Crowe had her own Super Tuesday where she asked her pod-cast subscribers to vote on their favorite episodes. She took the top "winners" and included those musical numbers in her new series of three shows.
