Binyumen ("Ben") Schaechter and Dan Kael's IT HELPS TO SING ABOUT IT returns to the Metropolitan Room this month.

This "smart, funny, joyous revue" (Roy Sander, BistroAwards.com) features Celia Berk, Michael Bernardi, Nora Davis, Joshua Lance Dixon, Marissa Mulder, and Kelli Rabke. The evening will be directed by Sara Louise Lazarus.

Binyumen ("Ben") Schaechter and Dan Kael's off-Broadway credits include THAT'S LIFE! (Outer Critics Circle Award nomination) and PETS! (Dramatic Publishing). Their one-act musical GOODBYE FOREVER (libretto by Nancy Golladay) has been produced in New York and Chicago and is anthologized in the collection PLAISIR D'AMOUR AND OTHER STORIES. Dan's TV writing credits include SABRINA, THE TEENAGE WITCH. Ben is conductor of The New York-based Jewish People's Philharmonic Chorus (JPPC) and also music director/pianist of DI SHEKHTER-TEKHTER, the world-travelling Yiddish-performing sister duo, and of the documentary film about them, WHEN OUR BUBBAS AND ZEYDAS WERE YOUNG: THE SCHAECHTER SISTERS ON STAGE. Both the Chorus and DI SHEKHTER-TEKHTER can be seen on YouTube. Ben also composed music for three other off-Broadway shows, including NAKED BOYS SINGING, which has had a successful life internationally.

Showtimes: Saturday, Sept. 16, at 9:30pm, and Sunday, Sept. 17, at 4:00pm. $20, plus $25 food-and-drink minimum. MAC member discount.
