GETTING IT RIGHT: THE SONGS OF JAMES BALLARD AND SETH CHRISTENFELD to Play The Laurie Beechman Theatre
James Ballard and Seth Christenfeld, the musical theatre writing team behind The Oxford Epidemic, will present an evening of their material at The Laurie Beechman Theater for one night only on Monday, September 26th at 7:00 PM. Tickets are on sale now, at $15 and can be purchased at www.westbankcafe.com. There is a $20 food/drink minimum.
Do you want to hear songs about quirky 20-somethings living in New York City, chasing their dreams as they strive to live their BEST life? Neither do we. If, however, you're more inclined to hear songs about blissfully suicidal Englishmen, suburban dorks with delusions of grandeur, befuddled modern art critics, and women in love with creatures from the Star Wars universe, then you've come to the right place. After meeting in grad school at NYU, the writing team of Seth Christenfeld and James Ballard make their cabaret debut, and their mothers are very happy about that.
Directed by Jenny Leon, the concert will feature performances by Dana Aber, Richard Binder, Troy Burton ("Twelfth Night" at the Delacorte),Sean Doherty, Katie Emerson, Ann Harada ("Avenue Q", "Cinderella", NBC's "Smash"), F. Michael Haynie ("Wicked", NBC's "Peter Pan Live!"),Janelle McDermoth, Brian Charles Rooney ("Bedbugs!", "The Threepenny Opera"), ALanna Saunders (NBC's "Peter Pan Live!"), Amanda Savan,Remy Zaken ("Spring Awakening", "Dear Evan Hansen"), and more. Angela Novy will music direct, with Mike Rosengarten on guitar, Danny Weller on bass, Jessie Nelson on drums and percussion, Hiroko Taguchi on violin, and Peter Sachon on cello. Rachel Kunstadt produces.
The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located within The West Bank Café on 407 W. 42nd street in Manhattan.
