Diana Knightly with a predilection for the eclectic, flavors her gigs with the spices of classical, electronic, and vaudeville in its heyday. In a mezzo soprano filled with wit, light banter, and a lil taste of honey, she delivers a very satisfying evening of jazz and soul music. We get the grit of Brooklyn and the triumph of the City in her original songs that pulsate in the vein of Tori Amos and Regina Spektor as she creates enchantment at the piano. A disciple of the R&B pantheon, Diana's sultry shows cover Lauren Hill, Stevie Wonder, and Bill Withers, but never to be confined to a single genre, she also pays homage to the styles of Radiohead and Joni Mitchell. A versatile artist, Ms. Knightly was schooled in the ways of the theatre at The Boston Conservatory of Music and is an apostle of the jazz god Overton Berry who mentored Dianne Schuur on her rise to fame. She has appeared in Milan, Lucerne, and here in our own backyard at the Iridium, The Duplex, the Belmont, etcetera. "
