FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Carol Woods on March 30, 2016. As Rex Reed so eloquently described her, "Carol Woods is a spectacular performer, with a voice like a brand new trumpet and a personality that wraps her audience in a blanket of warmth and peace. In a box of crayons, she's the fire-engine red!"

Having just completed her long run as Matron "Mama" Morton in Broadway's CHICAGO: THE MUSICAL, Carol has turned her attention to conceiving and performing shows with music that has touched her soul (and will surely touch yours), and played a significant role in her career. She'll be sharing songs that showcase her deep roots in gospel, her affinity for singing jazz and the blues, and, of course, her love of Broadway tunes. As she confessed, "I'm back in the saddle again and I'll be cooking on stage and serving it up vocally." Her audiences are reaping the benefits of her rediscovered joy for singing and sharing her gift.

Carol will be backed by The Barry Levitt Trio, with background vocals provided by her daughter and granddaughters (the apple sure doesn't fall far from the tree in this family). Carol's association with Mr. Levitt goes back 30 years providing him with an intimate knowledge of her stylings and phrasings, allowing him to predict when she'll take her next breath. Their history makes for a beautiful marriage of music and voice on the stage. In addition to Barry the trio includes Jon Burr on bass and Dwayne "Cook" Broadnax on drums.

Carol Woods plays Feinstein's/54 Below (254 West 54th Street) on March 30, 2016. There is a $25-$35 cover charge and $25 food and beverage minimum. Tickets and information are available at www.54Below.com. Tickets on the day of performance after 4:00 are only available by calling (646) 476-3551.
