Brian d'Arcy James and More to Join Kevin Cole for DreamCatcher Benefit Concert, 5/20 & 23

By:

Great American pianist Kevin Cole [fresh from Carnegie Hall, protégé of Marvin Hamlisch], with special guests Brian d'Arcy James [Shrek; Next to Normal], KLea Blackhurst [Everything the Traffic Will Allow], and Ryan VanDenBoom [Annie] will perform a Benefit Concert to support DreamCatcher Entertainment, an independent theatre and film company, celebrating their 5th Anniversary.

On Monday, May 20th, 8pm at the Dicapo Theatre, the room will be bursting with music, song, and tap dancing as the artists perform selections from the Great American Songbook. The evening will be echoed on Thursday, May 23rd, 8pm with a company celebration and relaunch, highlighting DCE's projects of the past, present, and a "sneak peak" into the future. Tickets are $25 for each evening and are available at www.jointhedream.biz.

DreamCatcher Entertainment, now a multi-media Production Company, began in Summer 2008 by producing a bare-bones workshop production of Artistic Director Kelly Feustel's full-length play, Peter at Queens Theatre in the Park. In the last five years, DCE has grown: having produced 6 additional plays, a monthly play reading series [Talent on Tap: Draught], 7 short films, and anticipates the launch of it's Music Department on May 15th. The DreamCatchers also offer their services as a Production & General Management company for hire, having worked on events and projects such as Twilight: the Musical, In the Bar of a Tokyo Hotel [both at New World Stages] and Maria Torres Emerging Artists Foundation Holiday Show [Poet's Den Theater]. DCE thrives on collaboration and workshopping, offering artists a safe environment to test new work, and develop projects in any stage. Each October, the DreamCatchers host a short play competition, Terror Tales, in which the winning playwright [by audience & guest judge vote] is commissioned for the next year to re-imagine a classic Horror Story and set it in modern day NYC. Help the DreamCatchers continue what they do: provide professional, innovative entertainment at affordable prices; and maintain a safe haven for rising artists to develop work for industry professionals and peers.

Kevin Cole with KLea Blackhurst, Ryan VanDenBoom and Brian d'Arcy James will sing, play, and tap in a benefit concert for DreamCatcher Entertainment at the Dicapo Opera Theatre, 184 E. 76th St., New York, NY, on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25. Visit www.jointhedream.com or purchase at the door (limited seating).

The DreamCatchers and collaborators will celebrate 5 years with a showcase of projects past, present, and future at the Dicapo Opera Theatre on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 at www.jointhedream.com or at the door (limited seating).
