The Ed Sullivan, Steve Allen, & Hollywood Palace shows have disappeared from the TV schedule years ago. Television audiences were always tremendously entertained watching an engaging host, presenting a separate and diverse group of performers in these musical, fun filled hours.
Jamie deRoy performer/host has been delighting cabaret audiences for the past 21 years with these type of variety shows. Her special birthday celebration show at the Metropolitan Room included a mixture of talented troupers who rose to the task of entertaining Jamie's Broadway Producer and industry friends in the celebratory audience.

Jamie opened the show with a parody about all the "clubs" she's played in. Jennifer Sheehan was haunting with "Two For The Road", and singer/songwriter Johnny Rodgers displayed all of his musical talents (and some that we have not seen before (pic).) The diversity continued with a very politically funny Scott Blakeman and the extraordinary magic of Benjamin Levy. Runner-up in NBC's Last Comic Standing Cory Kahaney was hysterical. "The Best Was (IS) Yet to Come" as Natalie Douglas belted out that great Cy Coleman tune accompanied by the piano pyro techniques of Mark Hartman. Jamie closed with Barry Klienbort's" 60 Going On 70". Everyone wished Jamie a happy birthday as her (favorite color) purple cupcakes were served.

The show had the expert touches of director Barry Kleinbort and music director Mark Hartman.

You can't see Ed Sullivan on Sunday nights anymore, but you can see Jamie deRoy & Friends every other Sunday on Mnn2, Time Warner 56, and RCN 83 at 7:30
