Bistro Award winning singer Anne Tofflemire returns to the New York cabaret scene this fall with a brand new show, THIS FUNNY WORLD, which she will perform as part of the Broadway at Birdland series presented by Jim Caruso's Cast Party on Monday, November 18 at 7 PM (doors open at 5:30PM) at Birdland Jazz (315 West 44th Street).

THIS FUNNY WORLD is a deft and touching evening of popular songs from Rodgers & Hart, Stephen Sondheim, Irving Berlin, Charles Strouse & Lee Adams, and Joni Mitchell, among others. Ross Patterson serves as music director.

Hailed as "an expressive interpreter of songs" (Backstage) with an "astonishing voice" (San Francisco Examiner), Anne Tofflemire was raised in Northern California, where she starred in the long running San Francisco productions of Side by Side by Sondheim and Rap Master Ronnie. There she was discovered by the Academy Award winning lyricist Sammy Cahn, with whom she toured nationally and internationally in Sammy Cahn: Words and Music. Her other theatre credits include Peter Pan opposite Cathy Rigby, Maria in West Side Story, A Little Night Music, and Gypsy. Her cabaret appearances in New York include Firebird Café, Delmonico's, Eighty Eights, and the Cabaret Convention at Town Hall; the Plush Room in San Francisco; and the Gardenia in Los Angeles. Her CD, Let's Face the Music, was released by Harbinger Records. Ms. Tofflemire lives in New Haven, Connecticut.

Tickets for THIS FUNNY WORLD are $25, and are available online at birldandjazz.com and (212) 581-3080. There is $10 food or drink minimum per person.
