USA has officially cancelled COMMON LAW, opting out of the option to order a second season.

"I can confirm to those who have asked that we are not renewing Common Law," Ted Linhart, the network's SVP of Research Tweeted today. "Thanks to all the fans who watched and expressed their support."

COMMON LAW premiered last May and focused on two ace detectives who are forced into couples' therapy to save their work relationship. Its first season received a 12 episode order and starred  Michael Ealy ("The Good Wife," "Californication"), Warren Kole ("The Chicago Code," "24"), Jack McGee ("The Fighter," "Rescue Me") and Sonya Walger ("Lost").

COMMON LAW was a joint project from CBS Television Studios and Junction Entertainment, and executive produced by Jon Turteltaub ("Jericho," "National Treasure") and Craig Sweeny ("Medium," "The 4400"). The series was created by Cormac Wibberley and Marianne Wibberley ("National Treasure,""Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle") who also served as executive producers. Dan Shotz and Karim Zreik ("Harper's Island," "Jericho") of Junction Entertainment served as co-executive producers. John McNamara ("Prime Suspect," IN PLAIN SIGHT) served as a consulting producer.
