The Omaha Film Festival kicks off on Tuesday, March 5th with opening night film "Hotel Mumbai," A gripping true story of humanity and heroism which vividly recounts the 2008 siege of the famed Taj Hotel by a group of terrorists in Mumbai, India. Among the dedicated hotel staff is the renowned chef Hemant Oberoi (Anupam Kher) and a waiter (Academy Award-Nominee Dev Patel, "Slumdog Millionaire") who choose to risk their lives to protect their guests. As the world watches on, a desperate couple (Armie Hammer, "Call Me by Your Name" and Nazanin Boniadi, "Homeland") is forced to make unthinkable sacrifices to protect their newborn child.

With a slate of 107 films over six days the festival has something for everyone with entertaining narrative feature films, timely thought-provoking documentaries, and short films of every genre. Filmmakers from around the country are making plans to attend and participate in Q&A panels after their screenings to help further engage their audience, and evening celebrations are planned each night after the screenings to give filmmakers, writers, and film enthusiasts an opportunity to celebrate the art of film.

The festival will close out on Sunday, March 10th with an awards ceremony then its romantic closing night film "The Tomorrow Man" starring John Lithgow and Blythe Danner. The film follows Ed Hemsler as he spends his life preparing for a disaster that may never come and Ronnie Meisner who spends her life shopping for things she may never use. In a small town somewhere in America, these two people will try to find love while trying not to get lost in each other's stuff.
