STAGE TUBE: Watch Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts and More in New AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY Trailer!
The film adaptation of Tracy Letts' AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY stars Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Chris Cooper,Abigail Breslin, Margo Martingdale, Andrea Riseborough, and Ewan McGregor. Below, check out a new trailer for the film, which just had its premiere at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival on September 9!
The film, directed by John Wells, will see Streep and Roberts playing family matriarch Violet and her eldest daughter, respectively. McGregor will portray Bill Fordham, the estranged husband of Barbara and son-in-law of pill-popping matriarch Violet. The story follows the Weston family whose lives have been splintered in many directions until their alcoholic father's disappearance brings them back to their childhood home and to the dysfunctional woman who raised them.
The play, which originally premiered at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company, opened on Broadway in December of 2007 and was the recipient of the 2008 Tony Award for Best Play.
Word is that AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY might be heading to theaters on Christmas day with a new ending. BWW will bring you updates as we know more. In the meantime, watch the new trailer!
