In a teaser for the new season of Comedy Central's SOUTH PARK, shared on the show's official Twitter account, the SOUTH PARK gang sings an "updated" version of the National Anthem that addresses the recent controversy regarding NFL player Colin Kaepernick's refusal to stand during the singing of the song before a pre-season game.

The quarterback announced that he would continue to sit for the singing of the Anthem until he feels "the flag represents what it's supposed to represent and this country is representing people the way it's supposed to." Other NFL players joined in the protest, including members of the Denver Broncos, Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots.

The lyrics to the SOUTH PARK version of the patriotic tune include: "Colin Kaepernick is great/Cops are pigs, cops are pigs/Wait, someone just took my stuff, I need to call the cops," the group, fronted by Randy Marsh and Gerald Broflovski, sings to the tune of "The Star-Spangled Banner."
