SOPRANOS Actor John Ciarcia Dies at Age 75

According to The Hollywood Reporter, John Ciarcia, best known for his role as mobster Albie Cianfione, the consigliere to Phil Leotardo on HBO's THE SOPRANOS, has passed away at the age of 75. The actor died on November 21st at NYU Langone Medical Center following a brief illness, his family announced. He is survived by his wife, singer Karen King.

Known to many as "Cha Cha" the actor once served as Tony Danza's boxing manager. His film credits included Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas (1990), Hoffa (1992) Death to Smoochy (2002) and A Brooklyn State of Mind (1998), which featured good friend Danza.

Ciarcia also was a regular on fellow Soprano's star Vincent Pastore's satellite radio program The Wiseguy Show. The actor owned a restaurant called Cha Cha's In Bocca Al Lupo Cafe, which attracted his A-list friends such as Danza, Danny DeVito, Scorsese, Pastore, Robert De Niro and Danny Aiello. The actor was lovingly given the nicknames "the mayor of Little Italy" and "the unofficial mayor of Mulberry Street."
