Today, TBS reveiled its 2012-13 programming schedule which included an order for a pilot presentation of the talk show NORM MACDONALD IS TRENDING. The project is from some of the executive producers behind Sports Show including Norm MacDonald and Real Time with Bill Maher.

SNL alumnus and former "Weekend Update" anchor Norm MacDonald will host the show as he and his team of correspondents "sort through the churning mass of pop culture and social media to pull out the funniest, most bizarre and entertaining events so viewers won't have to." Norm MacDonald, Marc Gurvitz and Lori Jo Hoekstra will serve as Executive Producers on the project.

MacDonald is best known for his five seasons as a cast member on Saturday Night Live, which included anchoring Weekend Update for three years. Early in his career, he wrote for the sitcom Roseanne and made appearances on shows including The Drew Carey Show and NewsRadio. He also starred in The Norm Show from 1999 to 2001.

Comedy Central included him on their five-part miniseries 100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time. The comedian hosts High Stakes Poker on Game Show Network. He also hosted Sports Show with Norm Macdonald on Comedy Central, which began airing in 2011.
