As BWW reported yesterday, at the TCA Summer Press Tour, FOX CEO Peter Rice revealed that the network plans to have the long running musical dramedy Glee go out on a high note, celebrating the series legacy. "I think Glee is one of the great shows in television history," explained the exec. "It touched so many hearts and brought social issues to the floor. It's been on for over 100 episodes now and six seasons, and we want it to go out in a way that celebrates it."

Today, E! reports that series creator Ryan Murphy is putting out an open invitation to original cast members from the show in order to end with a big finish.

"My feeling about the last season of Glee is very clear, and that is that we will be reaching out to all of the regulars on the show, that original group of Glee club members and the teachers, and anybody who wants to come back can come back." He adds, "Anybody who wants to be a part of the show, we welcome them."

FOX recently announced that the sixth season and final season of Glee will air at midseason on FOX and will consist of only 13 episodes.
