As first reported in the Hollywood Reporter, comedian Russel Brand is set to star and produce a comedy film for Warner Brothers entitled THE PRESIDENT STOLE MY GIRLFRIEND. Brand will be joined by Branded Films partner Nik Linnen as producer of the project.

In the film, Brand will play a "sexy hippie" who loses his girlfriend to the president. He tells the Hollywood Reporter, "It was inspired by the night I naively invited [Warners president] Jeff Robinov for dinner."

The film is penned by Matt Porteny, who is currently working on the remake of 'Porky's'. The writer also was involved in the Peter Farrelly-produced 'Movie 43'.

Russel Brand appeared in the Warner Brothers remake of 'Arthur' earlier this year. His next project is the highly anticipated adaptation of Broadway's 'Rock of Ages'.
