Rockmond Dunbar Returns as Dennis Abbott for the Final Season of THE MENTALIST on CBS

Rockmond Dunbar is a well-respected talent known as an actor's actor. He challenges himself and his cast-mates to deliver their best performances whether he's playing the head of a middle-class Chicago family or a misunderstood criminal inmate. Dunbar was introduced as FBI special agent "Dennis Abbott" as a recurring character on CBS' THE MENTALIST almost a year-ago to date on the seventh episode of the sixth season entitled, "The Great Red Dragon." Dunbar's Abbott has since become a regular character on the series and will be returning to THE MENTALIST for its final season on CBS premiering, Sunday, November 30, 2014.

Starting with a series regular role in Steven Spielberg's "Earth 2," Rockmond Dunbar has worked steadily over the years in feature films and television series. Named as one of "Television's 50 Sexiest Stars of All Time" by TV Guide for his role as "Kenny Chadway" in the acclaimed Showtime drama series "Soul Food," Dunbar is also known for his work as a regular on the FOX TV series "Prison Break" where he played the tough, mysterious character "C-Note."

He was also a regular on the FX series Terriers. Dunbar has guest starred and recurred on countless shows, including Private Practice, Sons of Anarchy, Felicity, CSI: Miami, Grey's Anatomy, and The Defenders, to name a few. On the feature side, Dunbar had leading roles in various independent films like Jada, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang alongside Robert Downey Jr., and Tyler Perry's The Family That Preys. Dunbar's directorial debut Pastor Brown premiered on Lifetime as a Black History Month movie event.

Dunbar also landed a role in the ABC pilot Doubt and can be seen concurrently with THE MENTALIST on BET's The Game, also in its final season, as the fan-favorite love interest, "Pookie."

Dunbar has enjoyed his time with THE MENTALIST and is looking forward to exciting new opportunities in his career. He has two television production projects in development for the 2015 season. Fans of THE MENTALIST will bid a sad farewell to one of the most watched television series in the world. However, they can look forward to seeing Rockmond Dunbar, one of the most watched actors on television again very soon.
