Deadline.com reports that legendary film star Robert Redford is currently in talks to star in J.C. Chandor's upcoming film ALL IS LOST. The film is described as a "man vs. nature drama that takes place on the water" and centers on one man's struggle to survive the harsh elements around him.

According to the report, crews have been sent down to the Baja Film Studios in Mexico which houses a giant water tank where such films as 'Titanic' and 'Pearl Harbor' were filmed. Chandor and Redford first met at the Sundance Film Festival and the filmmaker was so impresssed with the actor that he scripted the film with him in mind as its star. Zachary Quinto's Before the Door will be producing the film.

Shooting is scheduled to start in May 2012.
