ROMEO & JULIET Streams Free For Valentine's Day

Shakespeare's classic story of a FORBIDDEN love affair between two young people from rival families is adapted to the context of Brazilian popular culture by director Gabriel Villela. The production, performed by famed Brazilian theatrical company Grupo Galpão, is filled with humor and language inspired by the local countryside. Regarded by critics as the most striking rendition of "Romeo and Juliet" in Brazilian contemporary theater, the play was performed 250 times in 10 different countries the highlight being a short season at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London.
