Variety reports that stage and screen actor Paul Dano has joined the cast of For Ellen, an indie drama directed by screenwriter So Young Kim.

According to Variety, the "story centers on a struggling indie rocker who, after nearly wrecking his car during an overnight long-distance drive, arrives in a small Midwestern town to deal with his impending divorce. Jon Heder will play a supporting role."

The film will be produced by Jen Gatien and Bradley Rust and that it will begin filming in upstate New York next month.

Paul Dano appeared on Broadway in the 1996 revival of INHERIT THE WIND. He also starred in the off-Broadway production of THINGS WE WANT in 2007, directed by Ethan Hawk. He is perhaps most famous for his roles in Little Miss Sunshine and There Will Be Blood. Dano recently appeared on screen in Where the Wild Things Are, directed by Spike Jonze.
