NBCSN presents the finale of Shark Hunters tomorrow, Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 10 p.m. ET followed by Shark Hunters: Greatest Moments at 11 p.m. ET. The documentary-reality series concludes with a dramatic 60-minute shark fishing finale featuring the 27th Annual Monster Shark Tournament at Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard (July 18-20), the setting of Jaws.
The winner of the Monster Shark Tournament is determined by the largest combined weight of one or two sharks (mako, thresher or porbeagle, at a minimum of 200 lbs.) after both days of the competition. Anglers from all over the world ventured to the Northeast Atlantic to battle against each other, the sharks, rough conditions and the Atlantic. The finale highlights: - Captain and Owner Peter "Pete" Brancaleone of Fish On - Brancaleone has been offshore fishing for more than 20 years, and has won more than $600,000 in fishing tournaments. He previously captained the 62 ft. sport-fishing boat Volatility, and often competes with his eight-year old son, Peter Brancaleone, Jr., who mans the helm while his father hooks the sharks.- Captain David O'Halloran of La Bella Donna - O'Halloran's La Bella Donna is a multi-million dollar, high-tech fishing boat. On land, He operates Pinegrove Ranch and Family Resort in Kerhonkson, N.Y.
- Captain Paul Hiller and Owner Jeff Woerz of the Crack Oar - Hiller has been fishing offshore for more than 30 years. On land, he owns the Hiller Sports hunting and fishing retail store and gun range. Woerz has been fishing offshore for more than 20 years.
- Captain and Owner Anthony "Chaos" Giorgio of the Omertà - Giorgio has fished the Star Island Yacht Club Shark Tournament six consecutive years, and calls the Star Island Marina home base when heading off shore. In the early hours before the competition, Captain Anthony "Chaos" Giorgio of the Omertà faces a mechanical breakdown as he looks to repair the boat in time for the tournament.
